You’ve Met Grumpy Cat, Now Meet Grumpy Dog
Anuko the Siberian Husky, known as “Grumpy Dog,” has been capturing quite the attention across the internet and paying for his owner’s medical degree along the way. The seemingly-always-grouchy dog exploded on the web in June 2015 when owner Jasmin Milton, 20, uploaded shots of Anuko getting tricked with a ball. His look of betrayal captivated thousands of fans as well as reporters across the world itching to find out more.
In just a fortnight, Anuko’s pictures netted over 25,000 retweets on his owner’s Twitter and £5,000 for Milton, who soon realized she can make a lot of money from this. And over 2 million YouTube views, over 11,000 Instagram followers, a modeling contract, a website, many gifts in the form of treats, toys, and paintings of the dog, and £20,000 later (as of press time), it would seem that Anuko and Milton are utilizing his big break quite well. Of course Milton didn’t plan on any of this when first getting the now-two-year-old pup back in 2013. Milton suffered from bipolar disorder and, four months after being hospitalized at 18 for attempting to end her life, she found the puppy who would then save her life and now help her pay for medical school, which she is using Anuko’s earnings towards. As for Anuko, Milton assures his fans he isn’t actually grumpy all the time but rather lovable. Similar to Tardar Sauce the “Grumpy Cat,” Anuko’s abnormal face markings only make the Grumpy Dog seem, you guessed it, grumpy. Check out @huskyanuko on Instagram for more grumpiness. And “Sorry” to similar internet sensation “Earl the Grump,” (above) but there’s a new, grumpier dog in town.
