Actor and director Tyler Perry has purchased a Steinway B concert grand piano played by Nat King Cole and other jazz greats, including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Mel Torme and Oscar Peterson.

Cole is most famous for his holiday renditions of famous Christmas songs, such as “O Holy Night” and “O Come All Ye Faithful.”

According to the New York Daily News, all proceeds from the sale will go to Generation Hope, a charity founded by Cole’s twin daughters, Timolin and Casey, which promotes music education in South Florida public schools. The cause of promoting arts education for children is one that is close to Perry’s heart. In 2012, he paid $100,000 to support rap mogul Russel Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, which gives underprivileged kids access to arts programs.
