Subway Bosses Fire Jared Fogle as Pitchman Amid Child Pornography Scandal
Jared Fogle, who became Subway’s ambassador after losing weight by eating nothing but healthy buns, will be pleading guilty to the charges, according to reports.
And the news was enough to convince Subway bosses to sever ties with Fogle. Shortly after news of the plea deal broke on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, Subway officials took to the company’s Twitter account and wrote, “We no longer have a relationship with Jared and have no further comment.”
Fogle has not yet been formally charged in the case, which began last month, July 15, after federal investigators raided his Indiana home and seized several computers and DVDs. Though Subway has made it clear that they no longer wish to affiliate their company with their former ambassador, Fogle has yet to update the public on the matter. In fact, his Twitter biography still states, “Subway spokesman. On a mission to eliminate childhood obesity with the Jared Foundation.”
