Tennis star Serena Williams has written a touching message to her unborn child on Instagram.

The sportswoman announced last week (end23Apr17) that she and fiance Alexis Ohanian were expecting their first baby by sharing a selfie featuring her posing in a yellow one-piece swimsuit with the caption, “20 weeks”.

She deleted the snap but her publicist confirmed the baby news, and on Monday, Serena, 35, wrote an open letter addressed to her baby, praising it for giving her strength. The post came on the same day the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) revealed she was back to the world’s number one spot.
Besides a selfie of her laying on a sun lounger in a bikini top and skirt, Serena wrote: “My Dearest Baby, You gave me the strength I didn’t know I had. You taught me the true meaning of serenity and peace. I can’t wait to meet you. I can’t wait for you to join the players box next year (sic). “But most importantly, I am so happy to share being number one in the world with you…. once again today. On @alexisohanian bday (birthday) from the world’s oldest number one to the world’s youngest number one. -Your Mommy.” Serena, who is reportedly planning to return to tennis in 2018, met the Reddit co-founder in 2015 and they got engaged in December. She is currently on holiday in Mexico with Alexis, who turned 34 on Monday.
