Following in the long tradition of law enforcement professionals performing acts of kindness, a group of officers in upstate New York generously gave a homeless man a new makeover that he won’t ever forget. A few days ago, Rome Police Officer Aaron Page spotted a homeless man named Bobby in his city’s downtown area. According to Inside Edition, Bobby was “down on his luck” and desperately wanted a hot shower and a haircut. Officer Page told Bobby to go to the police precinct the next day, which he did. When Bobby arrived at the precinct, a group of police officers joined Page to help him fulfill his promise. The cops gave Bobby a much-needed haircut, a hot shower, and new clothing. “This morning we provided Bobby with a haircut, a shave, a shower and a whole new wardrobe of donated clothing,” the police wrote on their Facebook page. “Bobby left looking like a whole new person and couldn’t thank us enough.” On April 25, the Rome Police Department shared photos of Bobby’s special makeover. As of April 28, the post received over 21,000 likes. “It was all done out of compassion for a fellow man. We as police officers want to help, we saw an opportunity to help someone and we did,” a representative from the Rome Police wrote to Your Daily Dish. “As far as the [viral] response, it is totally unexpected but the support has been amazing.”
