RedState Rescinds GOP Forum Invite From Trump; Trump Fires Back

Donald Trump’s controversial statements targeting Fox News host Megyn Kelly have led to RedState, a conservative website, and it’s founder to rescind an offer for Trump to speak at a GOP forum in Atlanta.     In true Trump fashion, the real estate mogul did not take the news lightly. In a statement Saturday from Trump’s campaign, it said: “Mr. Trump made Megyn Kelly look really bad — she was a mess with her anger and totally caught off guard. Mr. Trump said ‘blood was coming out of her eyes and whatever’ meaning nose, but wanted to move on to more important topics. Only a deviant would think anything else.” That statement slightly alters Trump’s original criticism of Kelly. The original quote to CNN was actually, “You could see blood coming out of [Kelly’s] eyes. Blood coming out of her – wherever.” Many viewed the statement as misogynist, claiming Trump had gone too far in his reaction to Kelly’s debate questions and crossed a line for a candidate seeking the highest office in the country. Trump also took aim Erick Erickson, RedState’s founder, in the statement. “Also, not only is Erick a total loser, he has a history of supporting establishment losers in failed campaigns so it is an honor to be uninvited from his event,” the statement continued. Erickson had this to say in response.     While the affects of Trump’s latest controversial statements has yet to be seen in the polls, it has drummed up renewed support for the long-shot candidate, whose presence in Thursday night’s first GOP debate certainly helped Fox gather the 24 million people who tuned in, the highest non-sport ratings of any show in TV history.
