Man With Down Syndrome Has Dream Come True When He’s Sworn in as Police Officer
Brennan Wheatley’s dreams came true when he was sworn in to become a police officer for the day in Campbellsville, Kentucky. For Wheatley, who has Down syndrome, becoming a police officer was not only his dream, but birthday wish, and both came true on Wednesday morning, according to 7 News Boston. “He’s so loving and so good with the officers,” Police Chief Patricia Thompson told the news outlet. Wheatley got a uniform, badge, and was able to patrol the streets with officer Andy Warren, even making a traffic stop arrest along the way.
The touching gesture was shared by Love What Matters where it has been liked over 40,000 times.
