Luke Skywalker Thrills Locals At Village Pub

Star Wars icon Mark Hamill stunned locals at a pub in Portmagee, Ireland, on Wednesday, Sept. 16, when he agreed to play barman for the day.

The actor, who is set to reprise his role as Luke Skywalker in the next Star Wars installment, is shooting on Skellig Michael, an historic island off the coast of County Kerry, and wandered into the Bridge Bar unannounced during a filming break.

He received a hero’s welcome from fans, who posed for photos with the star and chatted to him, and he then agreed to pull a few pints behind the bar. One local, Colm Flynn, captured a photo of the actor and posted it on Twitter.com, writing, “Luke Skywalker is pulling pints in Portmagee…. yes this is happening.” Hamill is clearly having a great time in Ireland. He later tweeted, “Ireland is simply heaven on earth! The people here treat you like family.” Watch the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens before it blasts off into theaters this December.
