Fish Tanks Are So Last Year; Upgrade Your Home or Office Decor With This Gorgeous Jellyfish Tank
Sorry, little Nemo. So long, beta fish. There’s a new king in home aquariums. JellyTank is the newest innovation to bring exotic marine life safely into your home or office. JellyTank is an innovative, five-gallon aquarium that mimics the underwater atmosphere of a jellyfish’s natural environment. According to the company, the JellyTank comes with a biological filtration system and a proprietary flow design that provides the most sustainable and optimal habitat for jellyfish.
The JellyTank is large enough to hold dozens of jellyfish, according to the company, and was designed with the focus specifically on the animals. “The tank’s design focuses on the Jellyfish themselves with it’s seamless shape giving them the overall flow they would expect in the ocean’s tides,” the company wrote on their Kickstarter page. The JellyTank “solves all the problems that other tanks struggle with. A tank where jellyfish could thrive while keeping it affordable and low maintenance for owners.” Adding to the allure of the home aquarium, the JellyTank offers a unique aesthetic appeal with a remote-controlled LED for easy lighting changes based on your mood. The ultra-white and premium black designs provide the perfect balance to accompany any home decor. The JellyTank is currently in mass production after a highly successful Kickstarter campaign that started with an initial goal of $25,000, but far exceeded that by raising over $188,000 behind over 1,000 backers. The company estimates the aquariums should be delivered around the end of July, with jellyfish deliveries going out shortly afterward, according to a press release. While the Kickstarter campaign has closed, early backers can still reserve their JellyTank through IndieGoGo with pledges of $175-$200 — that’s more than a 20 percent savings off the retail price. The twin brothers behind the design, Brock and Blake Gratton, are currently working with marine biology experts to help in the creation of an aquaculture facility to grow their own jellyfish for customers, “to develop the best protocols and standards of practice to ensure we deliver the healthiest sustainable source of jellyfish available in the world today,” the company wrote on their Kickstarter page.
