Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been diagnosed with pneumonia.

The former First Lady was forced to leave a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Ground Zero in New York early after falling ill on Sunday. Initially a campaign spokesman said she became “overheated.” Video footage of Clinton stumbling when approaching her motorcade was soon posted online.

It was later announced by her doctor, Lisa R. Bardack, that Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday during a check-up about her cough. “Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies. On Friday, during follow up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia,” Bardack said in a statement. “She was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule. While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.” Clinton, 68, was due to leave for California on Monday to give a speech on the economy and attend fundraisers but the two-day trip has been canceled.
