George Lucas, Carole King, Eagles & More To Receive 2015 Kennedy Center Honors

George Lucas and Rita Moreno to receive Kennedy Center Honors

The Kennedy Center Honors have announced its 2015 honorees which will include filmaker George Lucas, singer-songwriter Carole King, actress/singer Rita Moreno, rock band the Eagles, actress Cicely Tyson and conductor Seiji Ozawa.  They will all be honored for their contributions to American culture at the 38th annual ceremony, which will take place in Washington, D.C. on December 6th, 2015.


Kennedy Center president Deborah Rutter says, “Each honoree and their career-spanning achievements exemplify a rare quality of artistic bravery. “They have pushed the limits of their gifts as musicians, actors, and storytellers to inspire generations of Americans and those around the world.” Tom Hanks, Sting and Al Green were among last year’s honorees.
