Former Homeless Teenager Stuns Audiences on ‘America’s Got Talent’ and Gets Golden Buzzer From Guest Judge Louis Tomlinson
A teenager who was previously homeless stole the show on Wednesday’s episode of America’s Got Talent, running away with the final golden buzzer in the process. Jayna Brown stunned audiences by singing powerful ballad “Rise Up” by Andra Day. However, the teen seemed more nervous to be in the presence of guest judge Louis Tomlinson compared to when she was actually singing. Check out the amazing performance below.
After her performance, the audience rose to their feet to give her a well deserved standing ovation, the judges included. “It’s not just one thing with you. It’s not just the voice,” Tomlinson said. “It’s not just the performance. You have everything, and it’s so infectious to watch you perform.” Judge Simon Cowell told her: “You, young lady, have just turned this competition upside down.” Tomlinson then hit the shows coveted golden buzzer, sending Brown right to the live rounds. While Brown seemed very excited about the golden buzzer, her hug from Tomlinson was probably the highlight of her night. Brown seems to have the leg up going into the live rounds, but she will have to face stand up comic and fan favorite Lori Mae Hernandez, and fellow golden buzzer recipients Calysta Bevier and Grace VanderWaal. The live rounds for season 11 of America’s Got Talent kick off on July 26.
