Demi Lovato and Katy Perry to star in original YouTube content Stars including Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and Kevin Hart will be starring in original content which will air exclusively on YouTube.


Executives of the video sharing website announced on Thursday in New York that they were launching original programming on their free service and they had teamed up with a bunch of celebrities to help kickstart it. The “Cool for the Summer” singer will star in “I Am: Demi Lovato,” an original series which documents the writing and recording process of her newest album and features her performances from around the world. It is slated to air in the autumn. Perry will also have her own one-off show called the “Katy Perry Live Special,” in which she will host a live listening party of her upcoming album for fans. She will also take part in the previously announced competition series Best.Cover.Ever., which will be hosted by rapper Ludacris and feature musicians finding wannabe singers who can belt out the best cover version of their hits. Lovato, Jason Derulo and the Backstreet Boys have already signed up for the show, which airs later this year. Comedian Hart will host “Kevin Hart: What the Fit?,” a weekly show in which he and his friends will attempt to master a challenging workout regime, while chat show host Ellen DeGeneres’ program “Ellen’s Show Me More Show” will include original content and exclusive access of her favorite moments and celebrity interviewees, according to Variety.
